We have all been affected by the flooding in some way in recent weeks. Several Dorridge residents have raised concerns around potential contamination of the stream at Dorridge Park in the early January flooding.
Your local councillors have investigated, and it appears that a foul sewage pumping station may have failed or the floodwater caused storage capacity to be exceeded. This has been taken up with Severn Trent who are investigating further.
Local resident and activist Sally Tomlinson has been out in the Park and been discussing the issue with local Councillors. Councillor Courts commented;
Dorridge Park is a vital local space for residents to use, to walk their pets and enjoy nature. Severn Trent have a duty to ensure the local streams are safe from pollution and councillors will continue to press this issue on behalf of residents with both them and the council.
