Dear Resident
I have had the privilege of representing Dorridge and Hockley Heath as your local Councillor since 2000. I live in the ward and my children all attended local schools and clubs. Like you, I experience the local issues we all face, namely parking, planning or the controversy regarding the rebuilding of Arden School.
I have worked hard to introduce two hour free parking and free parking after 6.00pm for the car park at the rear of the church and petrol station, to facilitate use of new community facilities.
Following the dreadful flash flood of 2021, that resulted in severe property damage, I have worked with officers to secure funding to help protect homes that were affected and to have work done in Hanbury Park to reduce flooding to adjacent properties.
The long-term solution is to deal with climate change and in my role as Cabinet Member for the Environment, I've worked with colleagues to put in place a Borough wide plan. Our work so far was recognised as the best of any Metropolitan Council in the country.
Locally I have delivered on street EV chargers for people living in flats in Dorridge. I have helped deliver improvements to local wildlife areas such as; cleaning and planting around the pond in Bridgemeadow Drive.
I will continue to represent everyone on local council issues.
