Dear Resident
Thank you for your support in the local Council elections held on 2nd May 2024.
I live here in the Bickenhill Ward with my husband, and our son. Living in the ward means that the issues that are important to you are equally important to me. Good schools for our children and jobs when they leave, feeling safe, getting the best local services we can get, help when we need it and all at a cost that we see as reasonable.
I served as your Ward Councillor between 2014 and 2022. During that term I had some notable successes. I led the campaign to prevent valuable Green Belt land in Marston Green from being handed over to developers to put a car park on what is now a public open space. I worked on many planning applications to prevent unwanted development in many parts of the ward and am currently working with Bob Sleigh on development proposals in Catherine- de-Barnes.
I stepped down in 2022 to give my son support through his A-Levels, but now have time to give back to the community.
I supported the Parish councils in developing traffic calming schemes to deter speeding traffic. I helped hundreds of individual people with issues where they wanted services but found them difficult to get.
I actively worked on the Airports Consultative Committee to ensure the people who live closest to Birmingham airport had a voice when it came to the impact of noise and disturbance.I still continue to organize the Hampton Wombles, the village litter picking group, who meet once a month to clean up the village. For me no issue is too large or too small. I will always do what I can to help.
