We previously reported that there was ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ in respect of completion of the Garden Squares and other works in Dickens Heath.
Cllr Ken Hawkins and local campaigner, Richard Holt, who is also Chairman of Dickens Heath Parish Council, joined forces to put pressure on the liquidators to progress the talks on engaging a development partner to complete the sites.
Although discussions are taking place slowly, progress is being made and early indications are encouraging.
In the meantime, we are pleased to report, that following our intervention, the liquidators have agreed to replace the hoardings around the development and this work will be carried out imminently.
Discussions between liquidators and potential partners have to be undertaken with an element of privacy, especially where commercial sensitivities are evident, but as soon as we have any more information, we will bring this to your attention.
Local Campaigner, Richard Holt, said “As a resident of Dickens Heath myself, it is disappointing that the Garden Squares development is taking so long to complete but we can assure residents that we are doing all we can to keep up the necessary pressure and encourage a speedy outcome to this situation. We will continue to keep residents informed.”
