Julian Knight, Conservative parliamentary candidate and Solihull resident has welcomed the start of £600,000 improvement work to Shirley Park.
The work will see the creation of gardens, a picturesque circular walk around the park, a wildflower area and a brand new rugby pitch for Camp Hill Rugby club. The work is being financed by Solihull Council and Shirley Advance.
"The Park is the lungs of Shirley, a brilliant community resource which is going to get even better thanks to these improvements. I am particularly looking forward to seeing the new flower beds and Camp Hill Rugby Club roar to victory on their new pitch.
"This is yet another example of how Shirley is moving forward at lightening pace. The park will be ready at exactly the same time as the new Parkgate development will be open for business; these are exciting times to be a Shirley resident."
