On the 17th July, Caroline Spelman handed over a petition signed by hundreds of constituents to the Government, protesting against the imminent closure of the Marston Green branch of Barclays Bank.
The petitioners call for the Directors of Barclays Bank to suspend the proposed closure of this much-valued branch until proper consultation has been undertaken with the community, and with affected customers.
MP Caroline Spelman said: “The Directors of Barclays Bank must not ignore the strength of public opinion on this. The Marston Green branch makes a huge difference to the community, and everything should be done by Barclays to try to keep this branch open".
