Solihull resident and Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, Julian Knight has hit out at Lorely Burt MP over the Tudor Grange catchment issue.
Julian said; “The Tudor Grange catchment issue has been rumbling away for much of 2013 and it is only now that Lorely Burt MP has raised the issue with the Education Secretary, Michael Gove. I have to ask why it has taken her so long to do so. Surely as a member of the Coalition Government I’d have hoped she would have had more influence and taken this right to the top much earlier on.
“Tudor Grange School is only using the rights given to it by the last Labour government - it has been a matter of delicate negotiation and persuasion from a number of people, including Caroline Spelman MP, who are concerned and have been making representations behind closed doors.”
“It’s not right for our children to be used as a political football in an MPs bid to grab a quick headline, especially when, we politicians are technically powerless to do anything about Tudor Grange’s admissions policy. The key to this argument is persuasion, working together, understanding and co-operation – a new type of politics here in Solihull and one which I offer.”
