Over the last 2 months, work has been going on to secure investment in Lanchester Park.
Councillor Martin McCarthy took council officers on a tour to show how some parts of the park have fallen into a very poor condition. A waterlogged football pitch, encroaching thorns, overgrown foliage, messy path edges, dangerous drains and many other issues.
Alan and Martin took Cabinet member Diane Howell to show her the Green Man Way, an overgrown public right of way from Lanchester Park. We have secured commitments to improvements in the park, beginning with new trees and flower planting to begin in the spring.
Martin says;
The condition of Lanchester Park is simply not good enough. North Solihull deserves a Green Flag standard park and we will push to make it happen
