Dear Resident

I am a Castle Bromwich resident and was elected as your borough councillor in 2022. Before that, I was Vice Chairman of Castle Bromwich Parish Council.

I have many passions when it comes to my role as a councillor and local volunteers. I am particularly passionate about reducing crime and antisocial behaviour. This is why I chose to be your representative on the West Midlands Police & Crime Panel. I am also keen that our area looks its best, which is why I am regularly pushing for improvements in public realm, parks and highways.

I am Chairman of the Stronger Communities & Neighbourhood Service scrutiny board, which I am always using to ensure Castle Bromwich and Solihull as a whole has the best services possible. I am also a trustee on Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens. Outside of my role as your councillor, I am a senior officer at HMP Birmingham and in my small amount of spare time, I am to be found gardening, taking part in local theatre, writing crime novels or cleaning up the local area.

Castle Bromwich is a village and civil parish. It is the northernmost Ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull.

After many years of campaigning by local Councillors, Solihull Council will be installing a zebra crossing outside Arden Hall on Water Orton Road.

Boundary Review: Castle Bromwich and Smiths Wood moved to Hodge Hill constituency

The Boundary Commission has recommended that Castle Bromwich and Smith's Wood wards be moved from the current Meriden parliamentary constituency into Hodge Hill constituency. It is part of a nationwide review intended to even out the number of electors per constituency.

Over the last 2 months, work has been going on to secure investment in Lanchester Park. Councillor Martin McCarthy took council officers on a tour to show how some parts of the park have fallen into a very poor condition.

A consultation is now beginning on works to address the speeding issue on the Water Orton Road. The consultation will start with the Parish Council, and then widen to the general public. The works will be funded by a grant from HS2. Your opinion is welcome.
