Conservative-led Solihull Council to help residents find work. That’s the message from Leader of SMBC Councillor Ian Courts
Launching the new ‘free’ support service, designed to help residents who find themselves out of work due to Coronavirus, Council Leader Ian Courts said; “Coronavirus lockdown has had a devastating effect on the economy and while we all realise it has been necessary to stay at home to save lives, I also recognise people need work. There are companies providing essential services and in other sectors that are recruiting. It seems only sensible to offer support to those out of work because of the virus, to get the new jobs that are available.
“This new free and bespoke service is available to anyone who has been made redundant or had their own small business. It is also there to support the self-employed who are looking for work to tide them over until they can re-start their own businesses again.
“Whatever your situation the Council’s Employment and Skills Team is ready to help”.

- Telephone meetings with a qualified adviser who specialises in supporting people into work
- Help with creating or updating a CV relevant to the type of jobs a person is interested in
- Up-to-date information and advice on interview techniques and much more.
