As your newly elected Councillor for Shirley East I'd like to thank all of you who braved the awful weather on Thursday 3rd May to vote in the local elections. It is a huge honour and privilege to be given the opportunity to serve the whole community of Shirley East. The residents of Shirley East have shown their unwavering support, given me words of encouragement and many hours of help which have touched me deeply and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Becoming a Councillor is an exciting but also a daunting experience because suddenly you have lots of information thrown at you all at once, together with new problems and civic duties to fulfil, but I will endeavour to tackle any issue to the best of my ability. I now join Cllr Mark Parker to continue the work that has been started for the regeneration and development of Shirley and together we will do all we can to make a real difference to the place where we live, work and shop.
If you have any concerns or wish to raise an issue then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
Cllr Karen Grinsell
