Ken Meeson, Leader of Solihull council, says “I would very much like to thank everyone who supported our party in the local elections in May. Conservatives increased their vote across the Borough with their promise to restore the Council’s reputation for efficiency and value for money, and we are honoured we have regained your trust to do so. After a year of stagnation with a Labour-Liberal run Council, Solihull now has a united Conservative team that will put people before political spin and with the experience to tackle the challenges that face our community. We have wasted no time in getting down to business and have already saved almost £20,000 by reducing the cost of Councillor Allowances . We are also undertaking a fundamental review of development plans through a proper consultation with local groups, to give people a real say in how we meet housing need whilst protecting the character of Solihull Borough”.
