In a desperate attempt to cling onto control of Solihull Council, we are saddened to see the Lib-Dems have resorted to “gutter politics” to try to achieve their aim - even changing their party colours on literature in an attempt to confuse residents. This is a tactic that they have used before; notably in the Olton by-election, where Conservatives crushed the Lib Dem majority to just 9 votes in what is desribed as one as their safest wards. The Lib Dem Group leader, Ian Hedley apologised to the Conservatives for a leaflet used in the Olton by-election; read his quote here.
“I would ask you and your group to accept my apology for the leaflet and look to the clear demonstrations of harmony between our groups for the benefit of our residents”.
Local residents will know that Conservatives have a proven track record of action here, but, to reiterate we DO NOT make personal attacks and we DO NOT use negative campaigning. We campaign on FACT not FICTION, POLICY not PERSONALITY.
