Your Conservative Councillors, Mark Parker & Karen Grinsell would like to make residents aware that Barratt Homes’ application to build 33 new homes was deferred by the Planning Committee meeting held on Wednesday night.
Cllr Karen Grinsell spoke at the planning meeting expressing concerns about the potential increase in traffic in Wolston Close and road safety at the junction with Olton Road. The Planning Committee were also concerned about the number of houses to be built, the size of the gardens being too small; the lack of open green space within the development and room for children to play.
Cllr Karen Grinsell said; “Whilst we must now wait for the Developer to respond or submit a revised planning application, Mark and I remain committed to supporting residents. We will let you know when a revised application is made to ensure that you have the chance to make your views heard. If in the meantime you have any concerns, please do get in touch with us”.
Both Cllr Mark Parker and Karen Grinsell pledged in their election campaigns to fight against any inappropriate planning applications or loss of green spaces in our area so they will continue their fight against this over-intensive planning application which would concrete over precious green space.
