On Thursday 7th May, Julian Knight was elected the new Member of Parliament for Solihull with a majority of 12,902 and Caroline Spelman was re-elected with an increased majority of 18,795.
Caroline said "I am delighted and humbled by the faith the people of Meriden have put in me to serve a fifth term... We can now celebrate our local and national victories, but not forget that we must hit the ground running as there is much work to be done here in the Meriden Constituency"
Julian said: "These two years of campaigning are a downpayment for what I will deliver as your new MP. I will work for everyone, I am determined to help forge a Solihull which is integrated, content and an even better place to live. Most of all, thank you."
