Solihull Conservatives are delighted to announce that Julian Knight has been selected as their Parliamentary Candidate ahead of the 2015 General Election.
The membership selected Julian on Friday 15th March following an extensive selection process involving 38 applicants.
Julian Knight is an award winning national newspaper editor and author. Born in Chester, he studied history at Hull University. Julian was the BBC News personal finance and consumer affairs reporter for five years until 2007, working across online, tv and radio. At the BBC he was noted for his work on the issues of pensions, poverty and financial exclusion. He is the author of six books including British politics, the euro-zone crisis, tax law and how to play cricket.
In 2007 Julian joined the Independent and is a senior editor on the paper working across money, property and economics. Julian has been a party activist for nearly a decade.
Julian said: "It is an absolute thrill for me to be selected by Solihull Conservatives as their candidate. I am really looking forward to taking the fight to our opponents and winning the seat back for the Conservative Party. Solihull is a great place to live, with a close-knit community and I firmly believe that the Conservative party best represents the values and aspirations of Silhillians."
