Olton resident, James Johnson has taken a proactive approach to address community concerns about the potential closure of the ticket office at Olton train station.
Driven by a personal incident involving his wife's distress due to an out-of-service lift and absence of station staff, Johnson crafted a petition, which has garnered 1000 signatures. His petition highlights the essential role of a staffed station in providing assistance, especially to vulnerable groups.
While West Midlands Railway considers introducing "new mobile teams", Johnson's petition stands as a testament to the community's desire for a permanently staffed ticket office, ensuring safety and support for all.
James commented;
This is a real issue that would have a real impact on the lives of Olton residents and we must do all we can to stop our ticket office closing.
