The first stage of the improvements to parking and road layouts has started in the area of Chester Road and Hurst Lane North. Known as the Hurst Place project, the scheme will increase the number of parking places to 42, along with improvements to the road layout and the junction at Hurst Lane North.
Cllr Ted Richards said: “Your Conservative councillors have been working for many years to get the funding secured for this project which will be completed by April of this year. A public consultation was held last year and it was clear that people wanted to see changes in line with the current scheme. Apart from improving the prospect for local traders, it will also add significantly to overall road safety in the area.”
