Local MP Caroline Spelman was among the many guests in St Paul’s Cathedral today for the funeral of the late Prime Minister, Baroness Thatcher.
Caroline said: “I was deeply honoured to represent Meriden constituency on this sad but uplifting occasion. It was an enormous privilege to witness the celebration of the life of an extraordinary woman who rose from humble beginnings to become one of the greatest leaders this country has ever seen.
“Her funeral service showed Britain at its finest and was a lesson in true democracy to all those nations round the globe where freedom is not valued and the role of women is suppressed.”
