Solihull's Conservative-led Council has, for the second consecutive year, been awarded 15 Green Flag Awards for parks and green spaces throughout the borough.
The 15 sites are among a record-breaking 1,883 UK parks and green spaces that received one of the prestigious awards from Keep Britain Tidy.
Councillor Joe Tildesley, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Tourism and Sport, said: "I'm delighted that our parks and green spaces have received 15 Green Flag Awards for the second year in a row. I know how important high quality green areas are to residents and visitors; these awards recognise and celebrate the dedication that goes into maintaining our parks and open spaces for all to enjoy. A big thank you must also to all the residents, community groups, local businesses and council staff who have all worked hard to earn these awards."
The 15 parks that received an award are: Brueton & Malvern Park, Tudor Grange Park, Shirley Park, Palmers Rough Nature Reserve, Jacey Park, Elmdon Park, Hillfield Park and local nature reserve, Monkspath. Olton Jubilee Park in Lyndon, Knowle Park, Bentley Heath Park, Dorridge Park, Lavender Hall Park in Balsall Common, Meriden Park in Chelmsley Wood, Babbs Mill Park in Kingshurst.
